This blog follows my life as a gay transman living in New Zealand and my path to phalloplasty. It will cover the months leading up to surgery including the referral process and the preparation both mentally and physically, as there will undoubtedly be ups as well as downs, as is expected for such a life changing surgery. I will show aspects of the process you go through for surgery, the recovery and progression of scars and recovery. Different techniques, options and considerations for lower surgery that I have will be shared, considered and I will provide as much information as I can on the matter in hopes that this will be a resource to help others figure out what is best for them. In the future I would also love collaboration with other trans voices in New Zealand to better capture an image of what life is like for trans people in this country we call home.
